21. Types of Skills
There are 2 types of skills.
Action Skills:
Skills that are actively utilized by the player.
Passive Skills:
Skills with effects that are constant.

22. Changing Skills
Up to 6 skills can be set for use in battle. Up to 2 Square Triangle Circle sets can made and be switched with R2. It would be wise to tailor skillsets for different situations.

23. Powering up Skills
All skills can be upgraded twice with skill points (SP). The amount of SP required to upgrade a skill is displayed below the skill icon. Upgrade the skill that best suit your playstyle.

24. Skill Scrolls
The Mage’s Guild sells various Skill Scrolls. Purchasing a scroll with automatically unlock that skill for the appropriate character. Scrolls do not disappear from the store so there is no need to be hasty about their purchase.

25. Equippable Items 1
There are 4 types of equipment: weapons, bracers, rings, and talismans. These 4 types correspond with the 4 character stats: attack power, defense power, spirit, and magic resistance.

Attack Power:
Damage dealt by physical attacks.
Defense Power:
Damage mitigated from physical attacks.
Spirit:
Damage dealt by non-physical attacks.
Magic Resistance:
Damage mitigated from non-physical attacks.

26. Equippable Items 2
Equipment can have effects attached to them as well. There are some items with low statistical value but have valuable effects.

The mark displayed after the item name denotes the item’s rarity. U (Unique) denotes valuable items that have a special name. A > B > C denote rarity from most common to least common. Rare items are typically more powerful than their more common counterparts, so be sure to regularly check what newly acquired items you have received.

27. Stored Items
Stored Items can be used to help organize your inventory. It can be used to store items intended for sale, gather all valuable items, or however you wish. However, stored items cannot be equipped on the fly.

A mark can be placed on individual equipment. Favorite weapons, situational weapons and armor can be marked. This can make tracking down your desired equipment easier in a cluttered inventory.

28. Using Objects
Stand nearby the lever and press X in order to use it.
* * *
29. Knocking Down Pillars
Attacking stone pillars will cause them to fall to the ground. Enemies caught in the pillar’s path will take great damage.

30. Stone Pillars as Weapons
Dagda can pick up stone pillars laying about and use them as weapons.
* * *
To pick up a pillar, move Dagda up to a fallen pillar and press X while standing over it.
* * *
After picking up the pillar, you can swing it using Square, Triangle, or Circle, and you can throw it using X.
