The 708 special points on the human body.
Hokuto Shinken is based on attacking these points, causing the body to explode from the inside. However, some of the points can also have healing properties.
The name Amiba gives to the victims of his research.
Many patients died from Amiba’s experiments, causing the Village of Miracles to be abandoned. Amiba, in his desire to seek more of those with the requisite physical strength, dispatched his „Specimen Hunters“ across the land.
The self-proclaimed title of the fearsome dictator who holds sway over the land.
Meaning „King of Fists“, his true identity is Raoh, the eldest of the Four Brothers of Hokuto. He seeks to rule the land by absorbing information such as Amiba’s newly discovered vital points and the secrets of all the martial artists imprisoned in Cassandra.
With his army rampaging across the land, his ambitions are almost realized until they are foiled by Kenshiro.
Seven Stars of Hokuto
The Seven Stars of the northern sky, also known as the constellation Ursa Major.
Referred to as „the stars that house death“. Emblazoned across Kenshiro’s chest are seven scars in the shape of the Seven Stars of Hokuto.
A type of aura that shrouds those who are true masters of a fighting style.
Raoh’s aura is especially powerful, and is capable of killing ordinary people who become enveloped in it. It arises from the ruthlessness learned through battle, and Kenshiro was able to develop his aura against Shin and Jagi, while Raoh developed his during a battle with Ryuken.
In Kenshiro’s final battle with Raoh, he draws in Raoh’s Mighty Aura, and waits for an opening to deliver a single unconscious blow that catches Raoh off guard.
Star of Righteousness
The star of the Nanto Suichoken successor, Rei.
Born under this star, he is destined to live for others. When Juda sees Rei giving his life to save Mamiya, who has seen the Star of Death, he scoffs at him for what he sees as his foolishness.
Star of Martyrdom
The star of the Nanto Koshuken successor, Shin.
Born under this star, he is destined to live and make great sacrifices for love. Shin lives for the love of Yuria, to the extent that he protects her by allowing the world to think he has killed her, and by waiting for Kenshiro to arrive to fight him to the death.
Star of Enchantment
The star of the Nanto Kokakuken successor, Juda. Also known as the Star of Betrayal.
Juda betrays Nanto Seiken and joins its archenemy, Raoh. Juda himself refuses to recognize the Star of Enchantment as the Star of Betrayal, and believes it to be the most exquisite, powerful and beautiful of all the stars.
Star of Benevolence
The star of the Nanto Hakuroken successor, Shew.
Born under this star, Shew is destined to give up his very life for the hope of the future. His benevolent heart saves the young Kenshiro’s life, and later strives to bring light to all the weak souls that would suffer under Thouzer’s oppressive rule.
Star of Dominance
The star of Nanto Ho-Oh Ken’s successor, Thouzer.
The star that sits atop the others of the Six Masters of Nanto. Also known as the Supreme Star. This star lives by the creed of „No family, no friends, no emotions, only one man alone“.
The Supreme Star
The stars that shine in the center of the sky.
One exists in both the north and the south. Thouzer believes that there is no need for two Supreme Stars and fights Kenshiro to the death. It is said that those born under the Nanto Supreme Star are fated to be Emperor and the other five stars of the Nanto Masters are mere satellites.
Allegedly, it is impossible for any of the other Nanto Seiken sects to defeat the Star of Dominance.
Star of the Lone Celestial Wolf
The star of Taizan Tenroken’s successor, Ryuga. Also known as the Dog Star, Sirius.
When the Supreme Star was split in two, creating one in the north and one in the south, the Star of the Lone Celestial Wolf was also produced. Like a wolf’s eye, it shines the brightest, and stands all on its own.
Nanto Star of the Compassionate Mother
The star of the Last Nanto General, Yuria.
Destined to be viewed as a benevolent mother-figure by all who meet her. Toki, Fudo, Raoh and others fall under its influence.
Death Omen Star
Also known as Alcor. A star that shines alongside the Seven Stars of Hokuto.
Those that see this star are said to be fated to die within the year. According to Hokuto Shinken, when two equal combatants face off, the Star of Death is said to shine above both their heads.
The supreme ruler of the land.
Until 1.800 years ago, the Celestial Emperor were protected by the Hokuto Clan Main Lineage, but as its style became more defensive, its usefulness in battle waned, and the world entered a chaotic period of war.
In order to try and control the chaos, Shuken created the Hokuto Shinken style. This eventually led to the creation of Gento Koken, a style which would go on to protect the Celestial Emperor.
In turn, this would cause Falco to bow to the fate of Gento Koken and protect the imprisoned Celestial Empress Rui, forcing him to do Jako’s bidding.
A man feared in the Land of Shura as a devourer of Shuras.
He appears whenever the Seven Stars of Hokuto can be seen in the sky, and goes after the Shuras who guard villages. The Rakshasa is actually Shachi, a fact which he reveals during his battle with Keiser.
Special points on the human body, considered to be the equivalent of the „vital points“ within Hokuto Shinken.
There are 1.109 destructive points in total, and striking these points can destroy an opponent’s body from within.
Demonic Mighty Aura
An aura that surrounds those who have entered the Demonic Realm.
Those who have been corrupted by the dark magic of Hokuto Ryuken – becoming capable of killing their families while feeling nothing – are shrouded in this Demonic Aura.
The more hatred and indignation one feels, the stronger their Demonic Aura will be, and Kaioh’s is so strong that he has to cover himself in thick armor to keep it under control. The flow of Demonic Aura is also capable of creating an instant anti-gravity effect that completely disorients its victims.
Hokuto Clan Main Lineage
A group of Buddhists who, 1.800 years ago, ruled the world as the shield of the Celestial Emperor.
The main lineage’s style is the basis of both Hokuto Shinken and Hokuto Ryuken, and those who have main lineage blood are considered to be the true successors of Hokuto.
The brothers Kenshiro and Hyou were once thought to be the only true successors, but it is later revealed that Kaioh, Raoh and Toki all have main lineage blood as well.
A statue that is safely housed under the Taiseiden.
According to the legend that surrounds the creation of Hokuto Shinken, it was built to honor the soul of Ohka, who sacrificed herself for the sake of her younger sister Shume.
Containing the spirits of decreased Hokuto Clan Main Lineage members, it reanimates Shachi after he is killed by Kaioh so that he can protect his beloved Leia.
The secrets of the Hokuto Clan Main Lineage are also hidden within this statue.
